Social studies is the integrated study of the social sciences and humanities to promote civic competence The social studies are identified as those studies which are concerned with how people build a better life for themselves and their fellow men, how people deal with the problems of living together, how people changed and are changed by their environment.This course will focus on those areas which help the individual understand himself, his place in the family, society and as a citizen of the global community. Students will therefore understand the importance of the family and the social institutions that help keep the society together.
