It is an advanced course in management concerned with the activities engaged by manufacturing and service oriented organizations in the production and delivery of goods and services; It focuses on the role of creating an operations strategy with the purpose achieving a competitive advantage;  it also focuses on the strategies for production planning in particular product design and development, process strategies, capacity planning, costing, qualitative and quantitative forecasting techniques, scheduling (project management), facility location  and facility layout;  it also focusesf on the strategies for production control such as stock (inventory) control, and quality control.  Finally, it covers areas of the environment and productivity.
